Measurement of engineering structures
High-precision geometry measurement of bridges, overpasses, tanks, crane rails, towers and industrial equipment with total stations and 3D laser scanning.
Licensed service · EL-845/2026
Measuring engineering structures means surveying objects whose geometry is more complex than ordinary buildings and whose accuracy requirements are much stricter: bridges and overpasses, oil and gas storage tanks, crane runways, telecom and power towers, chimneys, retaining walls and industrial equipment. On such structures a deviation of a few millimetres can put machinery out of service or create a hazard.
We carry out this work for asset operators, industrial plants, insurers and inspection bodies, as well as contractors installing equipment. Typical tasks include tank shell verticality and floor flatness, straightness and cross-level of crane rails, tower tilt, bridge span deflection and alignment of equipment foundations with design axes.
Measurements use reflectorless SOUTH total stations (1"–2"), digital levels and 3D laser scanners (±2–6 mm). Laser scanning captures millions of points without contact in inaccessible or dangerous areas; the point cloud is processed in Cyclone/Recap and compared with the design model.
Results are checked against permitted tolerances and presented as a clear report on the geometric condition of the structure.
