Geological review and consulting
Review of existing geological reports, investigation of causes of cracks in buildings and professional geological advice for land purchase and design.

Sometimes no new drilling is required, but existing information needs a professional assessment. Our geological review and consulting service helps designers, contractors, investors and private clients make sound decisions about ground conditions.
Typical requests include checking an engineering geological report prepared by another organisation for completeness and compliance with codes; investigating the causes of cracks, settlement or dampness in an existing building; assessing whether a plot is suitable for construction before purchase; and discussing foundation solutions from a geological perspective during design.
For cracked buildings the investigation usually involves a visual inspection, crack mapping, analysis of available documents and, where needed, a control borehole next to the building. In Baku the causes are often rising groundwater, soil wetting from leaking utilities, collapsible or saline soils and landslide processes on slopes. We also offer geodetic deformation monitoring to track how movements develop.
The opinion is written in clear, concise language: a description of the problem, probable causes and practical recommendations. In complex cases we work together with a structural engineer.
