Hydrogeological survey for water wells
Assessment of aquifer depth, expected yield and water quality, and selection of the optimal location for a water well on your property.
Licensed service · EL-845/2026
Drilling a water well is expensive, so its outcome should be known in advance. A well drilled without a hydrogeological survey may yield too little water or produce water unsuitable for drinking or irrigation. On the Absheron Peninsula and in other arid regions groundwater is often highly mineralised, which makes choosing the right aquifer critical.
The survey begins with collecting available geological and hydrogeological data and information on nearby wells. Where useful, geophysical methods such as vertical electrical sounding (VES) or electrical resistivity tomography are applied to estimate aquifer depth and thickness without drilling. Based on this, the optimal well location and approximate depth are proposed.
After drilling, a pumping test determines the actual yield and drawdown, and a water sample is sent to the laboratory for physical and chemical analysis. The client then knows how much water the well can provide, which pump to choose and what the water can be used for.
The service is intended for private houses, gardens, farms and industrial facilities. Permits required by law for well operation are obtained separately by the client; we prepare the technical data needed for that.
