Point cloud to 3D model (Scan to 3D)
Conversion of laser-scan point clouds into accurate 3D models: mesh, solid CAD or parametric models, from your own scans or our surveys.

Laser scanning provides an accurate copy of an object made of millions of points, but for designers and engineers a raw point cloud is not always convenient to use: the files are large, and surfaces and elements are not separated. The Scan to 3D service turns the point cloud into a lightweight, measurable and editable 3D model.
Different model types are produced depending on the task: a triangulated mesh for complex free-form surfaces, a solid CAD model for architectural and engineering elements, and a parametric model in SketchUp, Revit or other software for design use. During modelling, deviations between the point cloud and the model are checked and kept within the required tolerance.
We process both our own scans and point clouds in E57, LAS, PTX, RCP and other formats that clients have obtained from other contractors. Where needed, scan registration and cleaning are included. The result can be a building, a structure, equipment, terrain or an artistic object.
