In sand, gravel, clay, limestone and building-stone quarries, accurate production accounting, safe slopes and compliance with the mining design all depend on mine surveying. Survey measurements show the actual state of the pit, determine the volume of rock extracted and stockpiled, and form the basis of the mine development plan and regular reporting.
