Thematic maps of land use, infrastructure, population, ownership and other topics: GIS-based maps for analysis, planning and presentation.
A thematic map shows the condition of an area with respect to a particular topic: land use and land cover, types of ownership, road and utility infrastructure, population density, access to social facilities, agricultural land, tourist routes and more. Unlike a topographic map, the focus is on the spatial distribution of one or several indicators.
These maps present information in a clear and quickly understood form for government agencies, municipalities, design and planning organisations, investors, agricultural companies and researchers. Maps are prepared to suit reports, presentations, project documentation, applications and websites.
The map is based on topographic surveys, orthophotos, satellite imagery, cadastral and statistical data, and the client's own databases. The data are cleaned in GIS, brought into a single coordinate system and analysed: classification, density and buffer zones are calculated, and suitable colour scales and symbols are chosen for each indicator.
The cartographic layout is produced with legend, scale and notes. The map is delivered as a print-ready PDF, an editable GIS project or a web map, and it can easily be updated when the data change.
