Geobase (topographic base for design)
A topographic base showing relief, buildings, above-ground and underground utilities, ready for architects and engineers to design on directly.
Licensed service · EL-845/2026
A geobase is the starting point of design: architects, structural engineers and utility designers build all their solutions on this topographic base. Unlike an ordinary topographic plan, a geobase is prepared for a specific design purpose and brings together all above-ground and underground utilities on the site, their technical characteristics and any constraints that may affect the project.
The work includes a topographic survey of the design area with a sufficient buffer around it. Relief, buildings, roads, fences, greenery and power poles are recorded along with water, sewer, gas, heating, power and telecom networks. Underground lines are traced with utility locators, and pipe diameter, material and depth are measured in manholes.
A geobase is usually produced at 1:500, at 1:200 for small plots and at 1:1000 for large sites. Where required, documents are prepared for checking and agreeing the utilities with network owners. In Baku and the regions of Azerbaijan all measurements are tied to the national geodetic network.
The result is delivered as a layered DWG file and a PDF, so the designer can use it in their own software without any extra processing.
